Gypsies (Garland Reference Library of Social Science)

Critical descriptions of over 1,000 works about Gypsies in such fields as anthropology, education, folklore, history, linguistics, sociology, and women's studies; also includes adult and children's fiction. The non-fiction works are mostly since 1960 when Gypsies increasingly began writing about themselves. An introduction surveys their international struggle for dignity and human rights in light of racist attacks on them in newly enlightened eastern Europe.
